Haiku Poems Inspired by Master Bloggers

Over the course of three years of blogging, I’ve been inspired by the

phenomenal art and photographs of many talented fellow bloggers.

Featured are seven of them! I hope to write more poetry inspired by a

few others in the coming weeks…

Ravenous

See me as I am

Glutton for your attention

Ravenous woman

Muddy

Do you play in mud?

Stains hold fast to dirty pasts

Careful where you play

Tangled

Tangled in silk threads

Trapped insect waits with faint breath

Death walks the fine web

Trumped

Tangled web of lies

Woven to trap and gaslight

Ensnares idiots

Trapped

Tangled in her head

Dreams unrealized and trapped

Her chaotic web

Moss

Sits the silent king

Patient in times of duress

Moss grows on stone skin

Locked

You’re like a closed door

Secretive and locked from me

I’ll find a spare key

Wings

I have wings to fly

They never are really used

‘Til I see your smile

Dance

I dance in the dark

My demons rock the music

No angels on harps

  1. I love the haiku so much Rose! I will do a draft of a post to share on my blog and send it to you tomorrow. I will read the rest of your work tomorrow, also.

Thank you for your wonderful interpretation of the photo! I’m off to bed. 😴

  2. What a lovely way to share your taslents with fellow bloggers. Some lovely haikus there. Of course…you know which one is my favourite. Spare key under the doormat. Better to keep guessing what lies behind the door – the reality is a little ordinary.

  3. After a long drought, a deluge of poetry. What a great concept, and wouldn’t you know it, I follow all of the featured photographer’s blogs…which I found through your blog. You’re very influential. All of the photos and accompanying haiku are great. “Muddy” really grabbed me, and I instantly recalled Derrick’s photo from “Moss”.
    More, please.

    • I have been in a drought, Oggy… a drought that only the visit from a certain Irish dynamo could quench. Alas! Since Pierce Brosnan hasn’t found the time to see me, I guess you’ll do. 😉 Lol! I’ve missed you and appreciate your kind words, a chara. 😘

  4. You got all the right ones for inspiration
And the ones you did spoke of a place
Where the words come from your soul
    As Sheldon Yoursly

  5. These are wonderful!. Now you know I’m partial to your words but I see where the canvas can give light to your verse and the other way around. I’m going to have to brush up on my photography and such. My favorite is Locked… I love the line, ‘ I’ll find a spare key’, it shows fortitude and gives a lightheartedness to the verse. I also love Dance’ as it reminds me of New Orleans and the voodoo queen Marie Lavoie.
