I sell collectibles and art online and often find the things I've found have hilarious and at times, dark stories to tell. It's thrilling for me to be creatively random, so always expect the unexpected in the things I share with you.
Oglach’s comment reminded me of a Simpsons episode. Homer had a pancake with the face of Jesus (I think it was a pancake). Anyway, he couldn’t resist eating it and he kind of moaned that word: sacrilege + delicious.
Identical sins. Men being men; it’s all right. Cast stones at women.
That kicks me in the guts due to something going on in my life and the deep truth of the excuses that we make for the vile behaviour of some men toward women.
For the most part, I believe men have it pretty easy. I mean, look at the travesty in the WH and how easy it was for him to fool gullible people into voting for him.
I hope what is going on in your life, remedies itself, or at least becomes that problem in your rear view mirror which eventually becomes a speck as you drive far, far away.
A confessional? Looks like it, although for one that might not be familiar with such things, it might pass for a vent, which could be interpreted as metaphorical.
Sorry! I just updated my phone, and I couldn’t get my comments to show up fast enough, so I duplicated them. My husband’s mom is needing hospice care. We’re here with his family now and are making arrangements to get his dad and mom to come live by us. They’re 1.5 hours away.
I’m not traveling far until in April when I see my mom in CT. I’ll also be hanging out with Fly for a bit.
I’m sorry to hear about your mom-in-law. That is rough. April will soon be here. Perhaps you’ll come up with a number of pranks to pull on Fly in April.
She’s pretty amazing. Doctors are only giving her 2-6 months, but she’s still feisty and funny as hell. She’s almost 80 and says if you live long enough, something will eventually get ya! It’s true. She’ll go out like a fire cracker.
I’m a jokester and would love to pull some pranks on Fly! I cannot tell you how often I’ve annoyed him, even via emails. Haha!! I’ll let you know if I’m successful. 😜
Sounds like you get along with her. That’s great she maintains her sense of humor. Speaking of which, yeah, remember to do the basic simple pranks Luke a blackened eye from looking out of a scope and water sprinkling out of a flower, not to mention an explosion if paper or plastic insects when you give him that gift to open. Lastly, after one prank after another, you sit down to relax and he sits on a whoopie cushion and what is that smell?
Wonderful collaboration! I don’t know how the coincidence occurred, but just three days ago I wrote a poem in my mother tongue, Bengali, the theme of which is same as this set of haiku poems. That, no sin could ever touch men and women are stamped as sluts for doing the same…..we are so vulnerable and infantilized in every possible way!
Your poem sounds fascinating! Will you be posting it on your blog? I totally agree with you, Mani. Thank you so much! It’s always a pleasure working with talented and empowering women like you and Karina. ❤ xo
Oops, I forgot to mention the most important part! I thought it was a good series of poems. You’re great at collaborative work and you have a lot of poetic friends who give you a lot of fine stuff to work with too.
scintillating sin on Valentine’s Eve. I call THIS a masterpiece. :o)
Refollow me, plz! hehe! where did you go?!

Hey JM! I wondered where you’d gone. Karina’s two exceptional haiku poems spurred this fun theme of Double Standards.
I’ll re-follow you tonight lovely! I have to get ready for work. You’ve been on my mind ❤ Glad to hear from you!!

Yes, my thought when I saw the news about Flynn this morning (must have happened after I went to bed last night) was “one down, now about the rest?”
