Collage Art by Poet Rummager
the virulent tentacles tighten
Very dark and powerful, in meaning, form and structure. Your artwork here is stunning, my favourite work of yours yet.

Last week, there was so much anger and heartache regarding our country’s turmoil. It’s wearing many down. I’m glad for your visits and kind words, Og 🙂
Thank you so much. The collage is quite thick, and the found images were mounted on a page from a 120 year old photo album. It’s quite small; about 5″ x 4″. I’d like to mail it to you?
I know you have a new story on your blog, and I’m on my way there in a few minutes. 🙂
Heartache is a useless emotion. Admitting that you have it makes bullies happy. You’re too strong for that. Keep writing your stellar poetry and making your beautiful art. 🙂

It’s difficult not feeling anything when one looks at the Syrian children. I know what you mean. Thank you! xo

Haha! No, but it could be 😀 Do people in India have middle names?
Oh yeah. We do have. 😊😇
Wonderful post and the photo had me mesmerized. Use your talent to make things right… jc
Thanks so much, JC! I will try!!
I just watched the news….and realized that it has been made legal….the prevention of people from 7 middle east countries to enter US…it is really difficult not to be mad about it..
My prayers and thoughts are with you all there
And ohh this is the best piece of art work i ‘ve seen ever from you..
Thanks for reading my poem, Mich! I appreciate the kind words and prayers.
As always rose..
I particularly love the first two lines of the poem.
I know many of us are feeling so upset. I don’t want evil to win though. I want a way to eradicate that tumor.
I love the collage, Rose.
America is a great nation. Darkness never lasts forever. Wisdom and peaceful resistance are key; as you know first hand.
Thank you so much, Merril!
I hope you are right, Rose. Hoping for the end of darkness sooner rather than later. It’s getting scary.
Yes, it is scary. We can only hope for the best, Merril. It appears that there are even a few on the other side of the aisle speaking up.
I hope so. It was good to see the Democrats at the Supreme Court. I just made calls to my Senators and Representative–and I HATE to make calls like that.
Love the art work Rose
there’s always room for one more
As far as the state of affairs
It’s going to get worst before it gets better
I believe you may be right, Shel. Keep writing and making your amazing art — let’s keep our light bright. Many thanks!
Amazing piece of artwork and poem to convey your message, Rose! ❤ My thoughts and prayers for all of you my friends in the US.
Hi sweet Iris! Aw, you always make me feel like dancing. Thank you — I believe in the power of prayer and positive thoughts. ❤
I saw the dice and cringed.
Take care. 🙂
superb artwork, and your words… oh, so much meaning. Y’t a star.
It means a lot that you read my work so carefully and find meaning in them. xo
Really a wonderful work of art, and i can feel the despair creeping out of your poem. Keep your chin up, Rose.
Ha! I think I scare my husband more than anything else, Chuckie. You should see him duck away when he knows I’m reading the news. Lol. Thanks for visiting– you know how much that means to me.
He’s going to need a hard hat for the next four years.
Chaos. My favorite 😉
Ah, I think you are one of the few artists I know who writes even more sublimely when chaos hits. I should call you “chaotic Dorito!” 😀
Dark. Rose. Dark.
Just the way I like my poetry served.
An excellent piece. 😎
Thanks so much. I love serving up a hot, piping casserole of dark poems to you, Alan! Don’t burn your tongue 🙂
being my last
Haha! I doubt anyone would want to pick on a lion as ferocious and strong as you, David 😀
That is beautifully composed with sombre tones
Manly thanks, Derrick 😀
Beautiful work Rose keep pumping 😀 yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Lol. Will do, Josh. Thanks a lot 😊
Deep poet, keep the light on to keep your creative shine through the darkness. Keep smiling x
Lovely thoughts. Thank you so much!
Congrats..I’ve nominated you for bloggers recognition award..check this https://thescribblinglife.wordpress.com/2017/02/02/bloggers-recognition-award/
I like how you set up your lines- they are a work of art also. Great collage. I haven’t done a collage since I was a child. It looks like something I could really get into
Thank you! Yes, collages are fun to create — you should do it… NOW. Lol.
Th chaotic formatting boggles my mind!
Don’t you love following the words like they were bouncing balls? Um, rubber bouncing balls, that is 😀
Bouncing balls are the best kind of balls.
So much better than blue balls!
No one likes blue bouncing balls.
That sounds painful!
In the slang of some years ago, a drug addict would lament having “a monkey on my back”. The composed chaos of the striking image suggests a similar description for the bewildered anguish of those who are sane and decent when they contemplate the Age of Trumpery. I have a duck on my head.
Oooh, Mel, that’s an amazing phrase you just made up — I love it! That makes sense; especially because Trump is a quack of a president 😀 😀
I haven’t forgotten about your haiku poems. We’ll post those this month.
Love your collage! Petula is adding to chaos, obviously 😉 You are right, it is difficult to escape these tumors, but … if I get infested, I will think of Petula and know that everything will work out in the end 🙂
Haha!! Oh, you are witty and lovely like Helen Mirren — you remind me of her. Yes, Petula adds to chaos; that naughty duck. Lol. 😀 😀
I absolutely agree with what Inese said, Rose. I didn’t realize at first that the collage was yours. I think it’s great and it suits the moody and dark tone of the poem too. 🙂
Ah, my day is suddenly full of sunshine, and the birds are singing! Thanks my darling bag head 🙂
The collage art has accentuated the dark tone of the poem. Also, the structure has a voice of its own. Wonderful creativity, Rose… 🙂
You’re a sorceress of words, Mani! I’m mesmerized by your sheer talent. Many thanks, dear friend. 🙂
Coming from a person, who herself is immensely talented, made my day… ❤
Wow! Dark! 😊
Chaotic despair, although free of the cages with which order imprisons our minds. : )
Ah, I love your words. 🌹
Maybe the trick is not to escape, but rather ride the chaos..? 😉
