I walk a tightrope –
trying to keep my balance.
I won’t fall for you.

Bellissima!!!!Una foto molto particolare accompagnata come sempre da belle parole
Sto Sorridendo! Tu sei più dolce di torta!! ❤️ 🎂 💋
Hallmark would be so jealous! 😀 Thank you.
Great, both the poem and the photo. Love’s that won’t die often have more pulling power than those that are alive and willing..human nature , so complicated.

Thank you! It makes it easier to pen poetry when an image one finds is extraordinary. Human nature is very fickle. You brought up some great points.
Reblogged this on Ancien Hippie.
Thank you Penney!
Wonderful haiku, and very cool photo!
Matt’s photo did all the work. 😊 Words flow easily when the inspiration is already in place. Thank you!
An excellent Haiku Rose, and great
Thanks Alan, my shadow friend!
Beautiful haiku, and then upon learning what the photo is, it becomes even deeper; the person is under the illusion of choice; they needn’t worry about falling, they’re stuck in a spiders web. Or maybe that’s just my interpretation. Anyway, it was great.

Your interpretation was spot on! “I won’t fall for you.” Your options are pretty much nil when you’re stuck in a spider’s web. Thank you, Oggy!
Balance is unnecessary when walking along a spider web tightrope, but the journey is still perilous. You also won’t make it very far.
Yes, you’re right! Here’s the thing, your lovely photograph doesn’t tell the readers that it’s a spider web they’re viewing. So, the initial meaning of the poem only shifts if that’s divulged.
This is definitely one of my favorites of your photos. I enjoyed the dark elements, and the “illumination” on the tightrope when no hope actually exists.
Thanks! You wouldn’t believe how long it took me to acquire a photograph of a spider web strand.
It’s difficult to fathom the teeny tiny strand which you were able to capture with such precision. Everyday items become works of art through your camera.
Loved it! Added to my list of the very best quotable love quotes. 🙂
Thank you very much! xo
The picture is awesome!
And, the haiku..it echoes the eternal philosophy of life…balance is necessary, it’s an art… 🙂
Great to see you visiting! Beautifully worded. Thanks Mani❤️ Yes, art like letter writing. 😀
Falling for people is very dangerous. That’s been my experience, anyway. Only a very few ever tried to catch me on the way down.
A parachute comes in handy during those crucial times, BunK! — never depend on others to catch you; it normally doesn’t turn out well for all those involved. 😉
Why do I expect a black widow at the end of that strand…
….. or sneaking up behind you! Would you rather she be behind or in front? Do you like surprises, or are you more of a “face your fears” kind of prey??
I firmly vote for in between…
I can’t believe I didn’t comment on this! I love this poem and photo paired up. Maybe you won’t fall because you already have?
Thanks! Wow. That’s pretty deep stuff, Charles! Do other crows call you “Charlie,” Chuck,” or “Chuckie?”
No one calls me Charlie. Not even for a good time!
So Chuck or Chuckie, then?
I get both of those 😀
A razor blade of love
always trying again to draw blood
always at the right time
Outstanding, Sheldon! You know how much I love your words. Thank you again and again.
I will not fall for you
Love it Rose
Hello darling! You’ve made my morning and afternoon complete. xo
I look forward to our interactions
The Sheldon Perspective
Wow! Your words are always so brilliant!! Always love your posts! You’re so talented! ❤️😉 Love the photo too! 😀
Thanks Carisa! It’s always wonderful seeing you visit. There’s just something so lovely and genuine about you, it makes my monitor glow even more 😀 🌸 💐 ❤
Rose!! Can you be any kinder!!? I always love visiting. You’re incredibly talented and you have the kindest soul! Love making your monitor glow. 😉❤️
But sometimes the temptation to fall is so stron : D
Beautifully worded! Thank you 🙂
…and so we keep telling ourselves.
Oh, that’s exquisite! Walking in the spider web, keeping your balance and speaking in haiku – totally you! 🙂
Lol! I love speaking in haiku!! Thank you, Inese. xo
When I read the photo was of a single filament of a spider’s web, your haiku revealed a different meaning than I originally thought…obstinate turned to trapped. But then, what could one expect to happen when walking on a strand of spider-silk? I admire how you inject so much meaning in so few words, Rose.
Nice Haiku/Senryu and cleverly combined with the pic 🙂
