Luna watches and wonders
of what it is he dreams
as he rests.
He lies sweetly –
clutching the blanket
tight against his chest.
Ah, if only she could squeeze
close to him without
troubling his sleep!
Alas! His cell phone rings
and back to the sanctity
of the closet she creeps.
Lunatic: “affected with periodic insanity, dependent on the changes of the moon,” from Old French lunatique, lunage “insane,” or directly from Late Latin lunaticus “moon-struck,” from Latin luna “moon.” (Online Etymology Dictionary)

Lol. I believe the cell phone may have saved his life from Luna, the creepy stalker who apparently lives in his closet. Fly’s photo is fabulous. xx

I’m not sure about Luna’s identity or intentions, but since living secretly in someone’s closet is not usually a good sign, I think his cell phone might have done him a favor. 🙂

Luna sounds like one wacky lady.
Does she write really dark poetry in
that closet at night? 😟
Super poem Rose. 🌛

Excellent! There can only be one reason why closets (UK: wardrobes) are usually big enough for a person!

Great. I loved this. Your opening line reminded me of my sci fi novel whiich opens the exact same way. Discussing the ooon watching over us. Nicely done.

Ha — this post reminds me of that closet poem you wrote awhile back. Remember? I think that was the first post I commented on.

We talked about this over lunch, remember? I thought it was in September, but you’re right — late August; last summer. Lol. The poem was “Surprise.” I can’t believe it’s been that long. Fun times — thanks for the memories! xo

I like the image/idea of sanity being as fragile as a closet door that is not quite closed…
